STEM House Project

Hello Everyone,

For STEM (Science and Maths) our class has been learning about voltage, resistance, current and circuits. We were given a task to choose from three options of houses (I chose option house plan C), and draw a circuit using arrows to tell how much paths we have, next we had to choose from various light bulb options, for me I chose option 3 (12 light bulbs).

For task 2 we could add more rooms and decorate the house

Here is my layout/houseplan

On the very top of the house there is the entrance. In the middle of the house there is a dining room and lounge area, to the left there is a two person bedroom and below it there is an office area. At the very bottom there is a laundry room, just above there is a kitchen area. On the right is the master bedroom with its own bathroom and above it is another bathroom.

Area calculations:

Entrance = 3.9 m2

Two person bedroom = 12 m2

Lounge and dining room = 40 m2

Main bathroom = 16 m2

Office = 12 m

Master Bedroom = 16 m

Bedroom Bathroom = 12 m2

kitchen = 25 m

Laundry room = 7.5 m2

Voltage Calculations

Line 1 = 50v

Line 2 = 40v

Line 3 = 100v

Line 4 = 200v

Current Calculations:

I worked on various calculations for this project, from the total area of the house to the voltage and current of the light bulbs. These calculations tell me that the house is really big.

Each bulb had the resistance of 25.0, the power supply is 200v

Voltage: the name for the electric force that causes electrons to flow.

Current: The flow of electrical charge carries.

Resistance: the oppostion of a substance offers to the flow of the electrical current.

How did I do my working out/calculations?

Area: Multiplying height and width of a certain shape that gives you the area.

Voltage: Each light bulb has 200 voltage. By dividing 200 by how many light bulbs there are on a specific line/wire that’s the amount of voltage there are in a light bulb.

Current: Each light bulb has a total of 25Ω, multiply it by how much light bulbs you have in each wire (examples; 200).

I enjoyed this project, although I was quite stressed last minute it was quite fun.

Thank you for viewing my blog, have a nice day.
